some of the projects developed in our PILOT YEAR
Collection and processing of organic waste into methane gas for resale population at popular prices !
One of the most serious problems faced by communities of residents is the accumulation of garbage in the streets. The collection made by Comlurb is not regular and favela residents also do not organize to reduce the problem. The result is 13,000 tons of waste daily piles up in the neighborhood. By studying the problem, it was found that the main cause of bad smell and pest attraction is the accumulation of organic waste. Students created a home recycling bin that's 5 liters which prevents the output of the stench. Every four days their team collect the organic waste. These will be taken to a plant that manufactures methane gas from garbage. The generated gas will be resold at half price the market for the locals who helped collect the garbage !
Agua+ capture rainwater and humidity in your house to prevent drougth season !
The Brazil is facing a serious water crisis. Community residents have no access to
proper distribution of water. Students developed a rainwater pickup and humidity. The board can capture humidity, about 4 liters per day. In case of rain, you can capture up to 20,000 liters of water per month. Their goal is to educate communities about the serious crisis that the country is going through !
Application finder service providers in communities and facilitator services online. Many people think that people living in slums have a high sense of collaborative community. However,in their day to day students experience something different. There is a lack of communication between neighbors and lack of services. When residents need some services, they find it difficult to find a skilled professional To solve this problem present in the lives of residents, they created the application Community Service. In it, you can find easily and quickly providers local services.
Application to find free cultural events in the favelas ! The lack of social and cultural activities is one of problems of communities. However, Culture is critical to the formation of society. There are 770 slums in Rio de Janeiro and 130 social projects, Of these, 65% are allocated to sports. Some favelas stood out as cultural points. Thus, companies saw their growth and invested in projects. These are often unique opportunities for young people to escape violence and poverty. The funk, samba and the pagoda were born in the favelas, but are often more valued than the community which created it. Their application will promote opportunities and events such as workshops, concerts, plays, and other events.
